Completed Projects
Majengo Orphan School, Arusha, Tanzania
Two classrooms and a Craft Room were completed in December 2010 in the impoverished district of Majengo in the city of Arusha, Tanzania. The classrooms accommodate 48 orphans. The Craft Room provides sewing, knitting and batik skills training for single mothers, so they may have an income to support their families.
Materials - Concrete floor slab, plastered concrete brick walls, sheet metal roof on wood framed roof. Construction Time - 5 weeks. Construction cost - $16,700 CAD

Gongali Village School, Karatu, Tanzania
In Phase 1, 2 classrooms were completed in December 2010 in this small farming community of 3,000 people. The school accommodates 60 children. Qualified tradesmen built the school with labour supplemented by local villagers. The Gongali village provided desks and school supplies.
Materials - Concrete floor slab, plastered concrete brick walls, sheet metal roof on wood framed roof. Construction Time - 5 weeks. Construction cost - $19,500 CAD.
Phase 2 construction was completed in November 2011: a new building adding two more classrooms and an office.

Kilimamoja Village School Phase 1 - Water Project
The Kilimamoja school project slated for 2012 completion (refer Current Projects) required water at the schools site as the initial phase of the project. A new branch pipeline was built, connecting to an existing Water Point several hundred yards from the school site. Construction Time - 2 weeks, completed in April 2012. Construction Cost - $1,407 CAD.
