The 4 June 11 fundraiser was a huge success. Approximately 110 people attended and we raised close to $11,000, after the dust settled on expenditures. The African entertainment was amazing, the "Rukus" band got everyone up dancing, and the raffles and silent auctions items went very well.

Thank you to all that attended to support this worthy cause. As a result of your generous donations, we are now close to having the required $20,000+ funds to proceed in Oct/Nov this year with Phase 2 of the Gongali Village project of adding 2 more classrooms to accommodate the two Standard 1 classes graduating this year to Standard 2 level.

Special thanks to the following:

- Dana Craft and Norra Mirosevic who devoted many hours soliciting products from local businesses, (and thanks to all those businesses), and for their condo rental items at the silent auction

- Steve Miller for crafting the wonderful marquetry artwork for the silent auction

- Maureen VanWyck, Steve Miller, Jeff Miller, Gavin Miller, Danielle Peters, Danielle Bassett, Lauren Daniels, Tim Kyle, Joan Yarmie and Cathleen Hart for their valuable contributions in helping with preparations, setup, and staffing of the event.
